1. Who we are

Makuro is an app provided by DeepArch Co., Ltd. (ＤｅｅｐＡｒｃｈ株式会社), a company registered in Japan (“we”, “us”). By using the app you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

2. Health disclaimer

Makuro provides nutrition tracking and estimates — including calorie and macronutrient targets and expenditure figures — for general informational purposes. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for professional guidance. The numbers are estimates, not guarantees of any result. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before making significant changes to your diet, exercise, or health routine, especially if you are pregnant, have an eating disorder or history of one, or have any medical condition. If you may have a medical emergency, contact a medical professional.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 17 years old to use Makuro. The app provides calorie- and nutrition-related guidance that is not appropriate for younger users without professional supervision.

4. Your account and data

Makuro can be used without an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for keeping your device secure. You retain ownership of the content you log.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Reverse-engineer, resell, or misuse the app or attempt to disrupt it.
• Interfere with other users’ use of the service.

6. Intellectual property

The app, its design, and its content (excluding your own logged data) are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Makuro under these Terms.

7. Third-party services

Makuro relies on third-party services, including the Apple App Store, Apple Health, iCloud, and Anthropic (the Claude API, used to recognize meal photos). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

8. Disclaimers

Makuro is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its estimates will be accurate for your individual circumstances.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any health outcomes, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including certain consumer protections.

10. Changes

We may update the app or these Terms. Material changes to the Terms will be posted here with a new effective date; continuing to use Makuro means you accept them.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
